BAT-13 transferred to the Royal Navy in 1943 and turned over to Australia

  • Laid down, 2 September 1942, as Gulfport Hull 207, at Gulfport Boiler & Welding Works, Port Arthur, TX.
  • Launched, 1 January 1943
  • Delivered to the US Navy and transferred to Great Britain, 18 February 1943, under terms of the Lend Lease Act.
  • Commissioned into the Royal Navy as His Majesty's Rescue Tug HMRT Tancred and transferred to the Commonwealth of Australia Salvage Board
  • Commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy as HMAS Tancred
  • Returned to US custody, 2 September 1945, simultaneously Lend Lease to Australia
  • Paid off by Australia (decommissioned) 23 February 1946
  • Returned to US custody, 2 August 1948
  • Sold by the Maritime Commission Foreign Liquidation Sales, 2 August 1948, to Australia
  • Paid off by Australia, date unknown
  • Leased commercial, date unknown
  • Final Disposition, scrapped in 1998
