Quiros Class Mobile Station Tanker:
  • Built in 1903 as the tanker SS Graf Stroganoff, at Palmers Co., Ltd., Newcastle, England, for the Northern Steamship Co., St. Petersburg, Russia
  • Launched, 12 February 1903
  • Completed and delivered in August 1903
  • Sold in 1906 and renamed SS Ashtabula
  • Acquired in 1930 by the Petroleum Societa Anonima Di Navigatione of Genoa, Italy, renamed SS Alabama
  • Sold in 1942, renamed SS Osmond
  • Acquired by the US Navy 23 March 1944.
  • Commissioned USS Quiros (IX-140), 23 March 1944
  • Decommissioned, 7 December 1945
  • Transferred to the War Shipping Administration, 7 December 1945, name reverted to SS Osmond
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 3 January 1946
  • Final Disposition, scrapped, 5 April 1947, at Richmond, CA.
