Midnight Class Non-self propelled Storage Barge:
  • Laid down, 9 July 1943, as a Maritime Commission type (B7-D1) concrete-hulled barge, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 1326) at Barrett, Hilp & Belair Shipyard, San Francisco, CA.
  • Launched, 11 October 1943
  • Acquired by the Navy and placed in service as Bauxite (IX-154), 22 June 1944, Lt. Aubie R. Robertson, Officer in Charge
  • During World War II Bauxite served at advance bases in the Pacific Theater
  • Following World War II Bauxite was assigned to Occupation Duty and China Service at Shanghai, China from October 1945 to May 1947
  • Bauxite was towed to Shanghai to serve as a storage barge
  • Placed out of service and sold at Shanghai in May 1947
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 23 June 1947
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
