Watertown Class Missile Range Instrumentation Ship: Laid down, 2 March 1945 as SS Knox Victory, a Maritime Commission "Victory Ship" type (VC2-S-AP3) hull at Oregon Shipbuilding Corp,. Portland OR.; Launched, 13 April 1945; Delivered to WSA, 11 May 1945; Operated under charter to Olympic Steamship Co.; Laid up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Olympica, WA. 1958; Acquired by the Navy, 11 August 1960; Assigned to MSTS and named USNS Huntsville (T-AGM-7); Converted to a Missile Range Instrumentation Ship at Triple "A" Machine Shop, Inc., San Francisco, CA.; Placed In-service, 1961; Placed Out-of-service, (date unknown); Struck from the Naval Register, 8 November 1974; Laid up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet; Final disposition, sold by MARAD, 17 July 1995, fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 5,498 t.(lt); Length 455'; Beam 62'; Draft 29'; Speed 17kts; Complement 49; Armament none; Propulsion, steam turbine, single screw, 8,500shp.
