  • Laid down, 31 January 1945, as SS Warren P. Marks, a Maritime Commission type (Z-EC2-S-C5) hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MCE hull 2346) at J. A. Jones Construction Co. Inc., Panama City, FL.
  • Launched, 15 March 1945
  • Delivered to the Maritime Commission, 29 March 1945, for operation by Shepard Steamship Co.
  • Acquired by the US Navy in 1957 and converted to a Radar Picket Ship at Charleston Naval Shipyard, Charleston, S.C.
  • Commissioned, USS Protector (YAGR-11), 20 February 1957, LCDR. Glen G. Heller in command
  • Redesignated (AGR-11), 28 October 1958
  • Decommissioned, 28 July 1965, at Bayonne, N.J.
  • Laid up in the Maritime Administration Reserve Fleet, Hudson River, New York
  • Struck from the Naval Register (date unknown)
  • Towed to Norfolk Naval Shipyard for engine removal (date unknown)
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping to All Star Metals, Brownsville, TX., scrapping completed 30 November 2005
