  • Laid down, 22 October 1984, at Tacoma Boat Building Co., Tacoma, WA.
  • Launched, 6 April 1985
  • Delivered to the Navy, 14 August 1985
  • Assigned to MSC and placed in service as USNS Persistent (T-AGOS-6)
  • Placed out of service, 12 October 1994 and transferred to the US Coast Guard
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 6 January 1995
  • Transferred to the Maritime Administration for disposal
  • Acquired by the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Traverse City, MI.
  • Re-fitted by Petersen Shipbuilding, Sturgeon Bay, WI.
  • Renamed T/S State of Michigan began service in 2004 as the training ship for the academy
  • Homeported at Traverse City
