Commissioned in August 1863, Acting Master William Tell Street in command.

During the Civil War USS Fuchsia was assigned to the Potomac Flotilla

Together with USS Currituck apprehended the steamer SS Three Brothers, 21 October 1863

Decommissioned, at Washington, 5 August 1865

Sold, 23 September 1865
