  • Assigned to the South Atlantic Blockading Squadron, at Port Royal, S.C. 30 July 1862
  • Decommissioned, 23 September 1863, at Philadelphia Navy Yard for overhaul
  • Recommissioned, 24 January 1864 and reassigned to the West Gulf Blockading Squadron
  • Captured blockade runner Judson, 30 April 1864
  • Participated in the landing of troops at Dauphin Island, 3 August 1864
  • Assigned to South Atlantic Blockading from 20 May to 22 November after second overhaul at Philadelphia in 1864
  • Joined the North Atlantic Squadron, 27 May 1866
  • Decommissioned, 27 July 1867, at New York Navy Yard
  • Sold, 1 October 1867
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown

    Conemaugh 51k USS Conemaugh at anchor during the Civil War, location unknown. Note 100-pounder Parrott rifled gun pivot-mounted just forward of her smokestack. The dark band painted around the smokestack may be an identification feature.
