  • During the Civil War USS Judge Torrence served as an ordinance resupply ship on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers
  • Decommissioned, 1 July 1865, at Cairo, IL
  • Sold at public auction, 17 August 1865, at Mound City, IL.
  • Redocumented, 2 January 1866, renamed SS Amazon
  • Final Disposition, sank after striking a snag off Ozark Island, AK., 19 February 1869
