  • Transferred to the Navy, 30 September 1862
  • Commissioned USS Judge Torrence, at Cairo, Ill., 25 December, CDR. Le Roy Fitch in command
  • During the Civil War USS Judge Torrence served as an ordnance resupply ship on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers
  • Decommissioned, 1 July 1865, at Cairo, IL
  • Sold at public auction, 17 August 1865, at Mound City, IL.
  • Redocumented, 2 January 1866, renamed SS Amazon
  • Final Disposition, sank after striking a snag off Ozark Island, AR., 19 February 1868
