Spiegel Grove 59k ex Spiegel Grove (LSD-32) starts to sink stern first. Joe Radigan, MACM USN Ret.
Spiegel Grove 81k ex Spiegel Grove (LSD-32) sinking stern first and rolling onto her starboard side. Joe Radigan, MACM USN Ret.
Spiegel Grove 50k ex Spiegel Grove (LSD-32) sinking stern first, leaving the bow out of the water. .
Spiegel Grove 59k ex Spiegel Grove (LSD-32) sunk with her bow out of the water. It would take several weeks to completely sink her. She was laying on her side instead of on her flat bottom as planned.
UPDATE - As a result of Hurricane Dennis in July 2005, ex-Spiegel Grove now lays with her keel flat on the ocean floor.
