PCE-827 Class Patrol Craft Escort: Laid down 17 November 1942 as PCE-828 by the Pullman Standard Car Co., Chicago, IL; Launched 15 May 1943; Transferred to Great Britian 31 July 1943 as HMS Kilbride (Z 02); Reclassified BEC-2; Sold to Great Britian in November 1946; Sold in 1947 to A/S Kristiansand Dampskibsselskab of Kristiansand, Norway and rebuilt as a coastal passenger ship; Renamed M/S Jylland; Sold in 1967 to E. Zammit and Co. of Valetta, Malta; Sold in 1984 to Akdeniz Gemicilik of Kibtur, Turkey and renamed Kibris and Akdeniz; Sold in 1986 to Charterwall Maritima S. A. of Pireus, Greece and renamed Princess Lydia; Scrapped in 1988 by Comert Denizcilik A/S Aliga, Turkey.
Specifications: Displacement 640 t; Length 180' 6"; Beam 33'; Draft 9' 8"; Speed 15k; Complement 100; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose mount, three 40mm mounts, five 20mm mounts, two dct, four dcp, two dcp (hh); Propulsion two 1,800bhp General Motors 12-567A diesel engines, Falk single reduction gear,
two shafts.
