PCE-842 Class Patrol Craft Escort: Laid down, 8 July 1942 by the Albina Engine & Machine Works, Portland, Oregon; Launched, 3 December 1942; Commissioned USS PCE-867, 20 June 1943; Transferred to the Republic of China 7 February 1948 as Yung Tai (PCE 35); Reclassified PCE-41 and PCE-62; Damaged in action with Communist Chinese forces, 14 November 1965 and discarded.
Specifications: Displacement 903 t; Length 184' 6"; Beam 33' 1"; Draft 9' 5"; Speed 15.7 kts.; Complement 99; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, three twin 40mm gun mounts, five single 20mm gun mounts, two depth charge tracks, four depth charge projectors, one depth charge projector (hedgehog); Propulsion two 1,800 bhp General Motors 12-567A diesel engines, Falk single reduction gear, two shafts.
