Farmington served the Navies of the United States and Burma.

PCE-842 Class Patrol Escort:

  • Laid down 7 December 1942 by the Willimette Iron and Steel Corp., Portland, OR
  • Launched 15 May 1943
  • Commissioned USS PCE-894, 10 August 1944
  • Named Farmington 25 February 1956
  • Placed in service in August 1947 as a Naval Reserve training vessel assigned to the 9th Naval District (Great Lakes)
  • Decommissioned 19 December 1947
  • Struck from the Naval Register 1 December 1964
  • Transferred to Burma 31 May 1965 and renamed Yan Taing Aung
  • Scrapped in 2000.

  • Length 184' 6"
  • Beam 33' 1"
  • Draft 9' 5"
  • Speed 15.7 kts.
  • Complement 99
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose mount, three twin 40mm mounts, four twin 20mm mounts and one Hedgehog projector
