SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser/PGM-1 Class Motor Gunboat: Laid down, 6 February 1943 by the Mathis Yacht Building Co., Camden, New Jersey; Launched, 20 May 1943; Commissioned USS SC-1071, 8 June 1943; Reclassified as a Motor Gunboat, PGM-6, 10 December 1943. During April-June 1944, she participated in the consolidation of the northern Solomon Islands area. A year later, in April 1945, PGM-6 took part in landings on Mindanao in the southern Philippines. Struck from the Navy Register in February 1946; Transferred to the Foreign Liquidation Commission 7 May 1947. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 95 t; Length 110' 10"; Beam 23; Draft 10' 10"; Speed 21 kts.; Complement 28; Armament one 3"/23 gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, andfour twin .50 cal. machine guns; Propulsion two 1,540bhp General Motors (Electro-Motive Div.) 16-184A diesel engines, two shafts.
