PGM-12 served the Navies of the United States, the Republic of China, and the People's Republic of China.

PGM-9 Class Motor Gunboat: Laid down, 31 August 1943 by George Lawley & Son, Inc., Neponset, MA as PC-1088; Reclassified as a Motor Gunboat, PGM-12 prior to launching; Launched, 18 January 1945; Commissioned USS PGM-12, 24 April 1945. She served in Japanese waters soon after the end of World War II, supporting the occupation forces and taking part in minesweeping operations in the Tsushima Straits during late 1945 and early 1946. Ttransferred to the Republic of China on 30 June 1948 as Tung Ping. Defected to the People's Republic of China when they took over in January 1949 and remained in service into the 1970s. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 280 t. (lt), 450 t. (fl); Length 173' 8"; Beam 23'; Draft 10' 10"; Speed 20.2 kts.; Complement 65; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one twin 40-mm, six 20mm guns, four twin .50 cal. machine gun; Propulsion two 2,880bhp General Motors 16-278A diesel engines, Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.
