PGM-83 served South Vietnam and the Philippines.
PGM-9 Class Motor Gunboat: Laid down as PGM-83 by Marinette Marine, Manitowoc, WI; Transferred to South Vietnam as Hon Troc (HQ 618) under the U.S. military assistance program; Escaped to the Philippines after the fall of South Vietnam in 1975 and renamed BRP Basilan (PG 60); Scrapped in 1991.
Specifications: Displacement 122 t; Length 100' 4"; Beam 21' 1"; Draft 8' 6"; Speed; 17 kts.; Complement unknown; Armament one 40mm mount, two 20mm mounts and one 81mm mortar; Propulsion two 2,200hp Mercedes Benz 12V493 TY57 diesel engines, two shafts.
