Tacoma served the Navies of the United States and Columbia.

Asheville Class Patrol Gunboat: Laid down 24 July 1967 as Motor Gunboat, PGM-92 by the Tacoma Boatbuilding Co., Tacoma, WA; Reclassified as a Patrol Gunboat, PG-92; Launched 13 April 1968; Commissioned USS Tacoma (PG-92), 14 July 1969; Decommissioned, 1 May 1983; Struck from the Naval Register, 4 December 1995; Transferred to Columbia as ARC Quitasueno (Sleepless) - (P 112); Decommissioned and transferred to the Columbian Customs Service. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 247 t.; Length 165'; Beam 24'; Speed 37.5 kts.; Complement 24; Armament one 3"/50 gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, two twin .50 cal. machine guns; Propulsion, CODOG (Combination Diesel or Gas Turbine) two Cummins VT12-875 diesels engines, GE model 7 LM 1500 gas turbine engine, two controllable pitch propellers, 13,300shp. The CODOG system allows for diesel propulsion up to about 12-14 knots and marine gas turbine propulsion for speeds in excess of 35 knots.
