  • Final Disposition, disposed of, sold by Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) for scrapping, 1 September 1974
  • Nokomis earned one battle star for World War II service.

    CV-8 Hornet 71k Nokomis (YT-142) assists Hornet (CV-8) into her berth at Pearl Harbor, 26 May 1942, just after the Battle of Coral Sea, and just before the Battle of Midway. Note paint chipped off Hornet's waterline area by wave action while at sea.
