YP-16 was delivered along with YP-17 by USS Ramapo (AO-12) at Apra Harbor, 22 October 1940, to augment the local defenses and to provide naval surveillance and reconnaissance in the waters around Guam
Scuttled, 10 December 1941, destroyed by burning
Struck from the Naval Register, 24 July 1942
YP-16 earned one battle star for World War II service for the Philippine Islands Operation (Including Guam)
