Montgomery arrived at its new homeport of San Diego after completing its maiden voyage from Mobile, Alabama.

Mark Stefanik, commanding officer of the littoral combat ship Montgomery, discusses the ship's engineering capabilities with Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Director of Ships and Weapons Division, Capt. Shinichi Imayoshi. Montgomery is a fast and agile warship tailor-made to patrol the region's littorals and work hull-to-hull with partner navies, providing the fleet with the flexible capabilities it needs now and in the future.

Montgomery 257k 13 March 2017: The Pacific Ocean - Lt.(jg) John Homola demonstrates the ship control console functionality to a Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) inspector during final contract trials for littoral combat ship USS Montgomery. Montgomery is the fourth littoral combat ship of the Independence variety which features an innovative trimaran hull, designed to offer unparalleled stability for marine and aviation operations in severe sea states.

Montgomery 138k 28 April 2017: San Diego, Cal. - Cmdr. Wayne Liebold’s family helps him affix his Command at Sea pin after a change of command ceremony for USS Montgomery (LCS 8) Blue Crew. Montgomery Blue Crew is conducting training and certification in their homeport of San Diego, California, in preparation for assuming duties onboard USS Montgomery.

Montgomery 230k 09 May 2017: San Diego, Cal. - Sailors from USS Montgomery Crew Gold stand in formation during an exchange of command ceremony held on board the ship. During the ceremony, Montgomery Blue relieved Montgomery Gold and assumed command of the ship. Montgomery recently completed Final Contract Trials and several Combat Systems Ship Qualification Trial events.
