26 July 2019: St. Louis, Mo. - Lieutenant Commander Eric Turner, executive officer of the future Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS St. Louis (LCS 19), and Mineman Seaman Lauren Carr have their names displayed for the first pitch honors at Busch Stadium prior to the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Houston Astros baseball game. Thirteen St. Louis crew members visited the ship’s namesake city to engage with the community by highlighting the important mission of littoral combat ships and sharing the Navy’s story. Engineman 1st Class Lee Holtz salutes as the National Anthem is played at Busch Stadium and then receives a hug from the St. Louis Cardinals mascot, Fredbird. After taking a group selfie, Mineman Seaman Lauren Carr throws the "First Pitch", followed by Lcdr. Eric Turner, executive officer of St. Louis, throwing the second ceremonial "First Pitch" of the game.

Thomas Moore, Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, and sailors assigned to the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS St. Louis (LCS 19), tour Anheuser-Busch, Sept. 4, as part of St. Louis Navy Week. The Navy Week program serves as the Navy’s principle outreach effort in areas of the country without a significant Navy presence.

189k 18 August 2022: St. Louis, Mo. - Commander John Bear, the commanding officer of USS St. Louis (LCS 19), receives a pat on the back from St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Génesis Cabrera, after throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Busch Stadium during the 64th Annual Recruit Cardinal Company swear-in ceremony. Cardinal Company is named after the St. Louis Cardinals, who together with Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Mid America and the St. Louis Navy League, have sponsored the group annually since 1958. Every year, Cardinal Company is composed of NTAG Mid America Future Sailors who march from the Gateway Arch to Busch Stadium, taking the oath of enlistment while on the baseball field. NTAG Mid America, part of Navy Recruiting Command, recruits the next generation of Navy Sailors throughout areas encompassing Missouri, Kansas, central and southern Illinois, and a portion of Kentucky.
