356k 02 July 2021: Kansas City, Mo. - Sailors assigned to USS Kansas City (LCS 22) receive a pre-flight brief from Joe Chabot, a police officer with the Kansas City Police Department, during a tour in Kansas City, Missouri. The event was part of Kansas City Navy Week, the first in-person Navy Week since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing sailors from different Navy units across the U.S. to conduct focused outreach with members of the community. Navy Weeks consist of a series of events coordinated by the Navy Office of Community Outreach designed to give Americans an opportunity to learn about the Navy, its people and its importance to national security and prosperity.

The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. The LCS is capable of supporting forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence.

337k 26 October 2021: San Diego, Cal. - Captain Jack Fay, Commodore of Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (COMLCSRON) ONE, presents a relic from USS Arizona (BB 39) to Capt. Christopher Brusca, the commanding officer of Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Kansas City (LCS 22), in remembrance and commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The relic originates from a section of the superstructure of Arizona that was removed from the ship when the Arizona Memorial was constructed. The Navy History and Heritage Command authorized the removal of sections of the relics for display and legacy enhancing purposes in 1994.
