USS Germantown (LSD-42)


CDR. Christopher M. Causee, USN
CDR Christopher M. Causee is a native of San Diego, CA. He received his commission from NROTC San Diego and graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in political science in 2003.

Afloat, he served in USS ESSEX (LHD 2) as Radar Repair and First Division Officers and in USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71) as Training Officer completing deployments in both the 7th and 5th Fleet area of responsibility. As Department Head he served as First Lieutenant in USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47) where he was selected for Early Command. He served as Executive Officer for MCM Crew DOMINANT, MCM Crew LEADER and USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11) before assuming command in USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11). Most recently he served as Executive Officer in USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42).

Ashore, CDR Causee attended the Naval Postgraduate School, earning a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering Analysis and completed his Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1. He served as a Naval Science instructor for Seamanship and Navigation at the United States Naval Academy and served as a requirements officer for the Chief of Naval Operations, Director of Expeditionary Warfare (OPNAV N95). CDR Causee’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (3 awards), Battle “E” (2 awards) and various service campaign and unit decorations.
