USS Comstock (LSD-45)

Commander, USS Comstock (LSD 45)

Commander Gleason is a native of Greenfield, Iowa. He was commissioned in 2002 via the NROTC program at Iowa State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

At sea he served aboard USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79), the Amphibious Squadron 8 Staff embarked in USS KEARSARGE, USS OAK HILL (LSD 51), USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18), and USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11). He commanded USS SCOUT (MCM 8) and USS DEXTROUS (MCM 13). In January 2021 he took command of USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45) after fleeting up from Executive Officer. He deployed seven times in support of various real-world operations and exercises.

Ashore, he served as an analyst in the Surface Analysis Branch for Evaluating and Reporting (SABER) at the Office of Naval Intelligence and as a Department Head, Command, and MIW instructor at Surface Warfare Officers School Command.

Gleason holds a Master of Arts from the College of Naval Warfare, United States’ Naval War College where he participated in the Halsey Bravo studies group.
