  • Delivered for merchant service, 27 April 1976 to States SS Co.
  • Sold by States SS Co. to Whitney National Bank of New Orleans, 29 January 1979
  • Leased by Lykes Bros. Steamship Co., renamed SS Tyson Lykes, 23 February 1979
  • Sold by Whitney National Bank to Lykes Bros Steamship Co., 20 October 1982
  • Acquired by the Maritime Administration (MARAD), 8 September 1987, renamed SS Cape Inscription
  • Assigned to MARAD Ready Reserve Force, (RRF)
  • SS Cape Inscription (AKR-5076) is one of the Military Sealift Command's (MSC) 31 Roll-on/Roll-off ships and one of the 63 ships of the Sealift Program Office.
