Laid down in 1960, as ST Mount Vernon Victory, at Bethlehem Steel Corp. Quincy MA.
Launched in 1960
Acquired by the US Navy for the Maritime Administration’s Ready Reserve Force (RRF) in 1988
Renamed Mount Vernon and assigned the designation AOT-5083
Accepted into the RRF and placed in a retention status at the Beaumont Reserve Fleet at Beaumont, TX, 31 March 1990
Downgraded to National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) status in fiscal 1995
Further downgraded to non-retention status in October of 2007
Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 22 March 2013, to All Star Metals LLC, withdrawn 22 March 2013
