YSR-1 and an oiler are in the upper right with two old "flush deck" destroyers beyond at Norfolk Navy Yard, Portsmouth, VA., 29 September 1941. Relief (AH-1) is in the foreground and Orizaba (AP-24) is moored forward of Relief. Note Relief's bridge and the illuminated hospital ship recognition cross just forward of and above the spread awning (in the right center).

  • YSR-6 A YSR-3 Class Sludge Removal Barge. (Big W) bilge wheelerizing barge visible astern of Halibut (SSGN-587) being outfitted at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, in August 1958. Theodore Roosevelt (SSBN-600) is on the building ways inboard of Hallibut.

    YSR-7 outboard of USS William M Wood (DD-715) at Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, 27 May 1964. USS William M. Wood was undergoing FRAM I (Fleet Rehabilitation And Modernization). Note sonar dome on pier in background and an "extra" mast on the pier by the bow.
