  • A wooden schooner purchased by the Navy at Philadelphia 21 September 1861
  • Commissioned USS Rachel Seaman, 16 November 1861, at Philadelphia Navy Yard Acting Master Quincey A. Hooper in command
  • Assigned to the Gulf Blockading Squadron for blockade duty along the Texas and Alabama coasts
  • USS Rachel Seaman shelled Confederate batteries at Pass Cavallo and Velasco in January 1862, and at Sabine Pass September 1862, and destroyed a railroad bridge at Taylor's Bayou TX.
  • Captured British schooner Dart and burned schooners Stonewall and Lone Star
  • Took schooner Nymph, 21 April 1863 and captured British schooner Maria Alfred, 13 April 1864
  • Decommissioned, 22 May 1865, at New York
  • Sold at public auction, 30 May 1865 to Mr. Wiggins
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
