The Mediterranean Sea, Aug. 1, 2000 - Sailors aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) gather on the flight deck to spell out "IKE 2000" referring to their successful deployment to the Mediterranean Sea in the new millenium. Deployed with Dwight D. Eisenhower were the guided missile cruisers USS Cape St. George (CG 71) (top) and USS Anzio (CG 68).

The Mediterranean Sea (Mar. 23, 2003) -- A Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) launches from the guided missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71). The Cape St. George is deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.

SAN DIEGO, 19 December 2007 - The guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71) sits pier-side, ready for a judging panel's inspection during the 2007 holiday ship decoration contest. Ships and shore commands were judged on four criteria: degree of difficulty, originality of display, holiday spirit and creativity.
